HISTORY: A self-proclaimed techno geek, Tucker has been Danny’s best friend "since forever", sharing everything together, except that fateful day when his good buddy obtained ghost powers and gained something that which Tucker himself could not. With a confident soul, the so-called "God’s gift to women" has remained one of Danny’s staunchest partners in the fight against ghosts...and secretly a bitter jealously against it.
Only two occasions have ever made note of Tucker’s deeper insights. The first demonstrated that Danny’s ghost power left Tucker in an unequal gloom; where he doesn’t feel as balanced as he once was with Danny. He upgraded to cool superpowers and Tucker was left being...Tucker, the geek no one but his immediate friends liked. When he acquired powers of his own through a wish (granted by Desiree without his knowledge), he gleefully tried the hero routine before relinquishing that to Danny and instead letting his less-then-moral core abuse its powers faster then Danny on a good day. Causing a heated rivalry from his end, Tucker violently denied Danny’s help and literally became the monster that festered inside him. Danny barely managed to save him by separating his ghost half from his human side, but the lesson was far from over. ("What You Want")
He still had problems getting any form of attention, especially from his friends. Indeed, Danny has the respect of Amity Park, Sam remains vocal and independent, but Tucker plays third place within the Power Trio and his desire for the spotlight garnered him to run for school president. He ends up corrupted by Hotep-Ra, a mummy ghost who once served for Pharaoh Duulaman who coincidentally looks exactly like Tucker (maybe they’re related). It once again led to trouble and once more did Danny fix it, though this time Tucker played his part and fought against his dissonance. ("King Tuck")
Anything before and after that episode really has no bearing at all for Tucker. Most of the time, he usually helps out "Team Phantom" by hacking into anything electronic with his trusty PDA, which is always by his side, usually with multiple copies. He constantly goes on milder hi-jinx with Sam during the series’ B-plot (that sometimes conjoins with the main story) or by the latter portion of the series, is often ignored or pushed to the side. He plays a significant role in the last episode when Tucker commands a team of experts to build a giant machine. Meant to phase the entire planet from an ongoing asteroid, Tucker’s brilliant mind in the realm of forward machinery has earned him a place as the mayor of Amity Park (I know, bear with me).
PERSONALITY: His physical appearance leaves much to the imagination to those seeking a handsome individual, but that’s a delusion of grandeur Tucker will take. A constant womanizer, Tucker is under belief he is God’s gift to women, always trying to woo the next pretty face that comes within his grasp. Unfortunately, it usually fails and he in turn resorts to his next great love: technology.
More then just a hobby, Tucker embodies everything that is computer, mastering the art of hacking and the doo-dads of each wired compartment. He at times builds little contraptions to comfort his chosen lifestyle ("Torrent of Terror", "Frightmare"). Despite often glued to the screen, Tucker isn't foreign to the concept of human feelings and remains empathetic over emotions Danny and Sam either doesn't see or chooses not to. With it comes a cool, calm, and collected young man who’s love for meat and mainstream appeal counters with Sam—sometimes viciously—who remains his opposite.
Underneath that smooth talking exterior, Tucker is secretly miserable with the way he’s being treated. Refusing to abandon the life he has chosen, Tucker gets the short end of the stick in many ways (at times, from his own friends), causing his insides to fester with frustration and temptation to embrace the darker core, one where he would do anything to gain the spotlight. He is the easiest one to be corrupt by the bitter resentment and the most vulnerable to his sins. To hide his inferior complexity, he hides it with a lighthearted joke. Despite it all (or because of it), Tucker remains the most loyal of the three.
OPINION: The techno geek aspect nor his lady-charming skills (or lack thereof) didn't make me cater to Tucker. Out of the trios, he’s the least I’m concerned with. Part of the reason is that the writers seem to share the same feelings; they don’t seem to care about him. He has an intriguing story arc that a couple of episodes explored, but never emphasized or finished. By Season Three, he became the very person he didn’t wish to be in "King Tuck"; he was ignored or pushed out of the plot in order to favor not only Danny, but Sam.
See? I can’t even get more then two paragraphs to describe how I feel for him because there is barely anything there for me to care about. I don’t share his interests either and his character remains largely the same throughout the stretch of the show. Poor Tucker, if only the writers gave him some of the limelight...
