HISTORY: Amorpho mucks shit up in Amity Park all in the name of mischief, mysteriously despite his cry for attention. He thinks it’s all fun and games until he spots a one Danny Phantom popping up everywhere, stealing the spotlight or so he assumes. Noticing Danny can change from his human to ghost self upon spying on him, Amorpho angrily assumes Danny’s transformation was a direct copy of “his things”--obviously ignoring the fact that other ghosts can shape-shift.
To complicate Danny’s already busy life further, Amorpho turns into his human self to screw with him. Danny Phantom, having averted a colossal group of fans eyes his doppelganger enter his house. There, Amorpho Danny rips up Jazz’s scrap book until the real deal smacks him to the basement where the two are accidentally exposed to Jack’s latest invention. It short-circuits their powers and they both go their separate ways.
In the case of Amorpho, he hides out in Casper High, transforming into Lancer to avoid any actual attention for once (noticing the pudgy teacher barely getting any recognition from his students). There he waltzes his way to the school science lab to find a cure for his ailment until students bombarded him with questions and pranks, giving him a taste of his own medicine. He reunites with Danny and he flies off with the current permanent ghost boy, desperately confessing his true reasons for nearly ruining Danny’s life. Flying to the Fenton basement, Amorpho and Danny fake a battle under witness of the ever-rampaging Jack and Maddie (who’s after Danny Phantom of course--this time on a more personal crusade, assuming he torn their son’s face off), activating the machine in secret, and giving the two their powers back.
Danny strikes a deal, asking Amorpho to leave his town be in return for his freedom. They shake hands in agreement, but on a last ditch response, Amorpho again turns into Danny Phantom and mysteriously points out how he’ll know if he’d ever be back in town. Mischievous to the end, Amorpho pulls one last prank on Lancer (“Forever Phantom”).
He returns in the last episode to help Danny save the world from a giant asteroid (“Phantom Planet”).
PERSONALITY: He’s not a bad ghost, just not a serious one. He’s a prankster to the end, using whatever methods he finds that will make people laugh or at least gain some sort of reaction from his masterpieces; causing angry mobs, family arguments, and at one point, nearly killing a school bus full of children. Though in Amorpho’s defense, he tries in vain to not let the joke go too far. He possesses a decent protagonist-ish moral code to try and not get carried away--after all, he wants people to notice him, not get them killed over his childish misdeeds.
Despite a sneaky, mysterious manner, Amorpho is determined in hopes that somebody will notice him, realizing in his first episode appearance that too much attention isn’t necessary a good thing. But that’s not gonna keep the ol’ guy down…
NEO YI’s OPINION: I like him. I like his awesome character design (which I jabbered over at this episode’s review) and his personality which is far from the typical one-dimensions the other Season Three characters possess. He’s likable and is easily the most charming Season Three character. Shame he never made another appearance outside of a cameo. We will never forget his “Billy Fenton”. I am mixed on his voice though.
*Credit for Amorpho's voice actor goes to a fan named Megan (surname withdrawn for protection) who manage to find out. Thanks for the info.
